Oct. 14, 2021 – A Yonkers man who sexually abused a woman as she was entering her apartment in the City of Yonkers, and was later identified in three other forcible touching incidents, was sentenced to prison on Tuesday, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced.

Andre Degree, 26, was sentenced, after pleading guilty to Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a felony, to three years in state prison, with 10 years’ post-release supervision. Upon his release from prison, he will be required to register as a sex offender.

On Sept. 24, 2020, at approximately 8:50 a.m., Degree approached a woman from behind who was entering her building in Yonkers, forced her pants down and sexually assaulted her. A struggle ensued and Degree fled the scene, with the woman chasing after him for several blocks while on the phone with the Yonkers Police Department until she lost sight of him.

Yonkers Police arrested Degree on Oct. 1, 2020, after reviewing surveillance videos. Following his arrest, Degree was later identified in three separate forcible touching incidents that took place in the same area on Aug. 3, 2020, September 4, 2020, and Sept. 23, 2020.

The case was before Judge Susan Cacace in Westchester County Court and was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Marissa Morra-Wynn.
