Defendant: Byron Stinson (DOB 04/10/82)

June 25, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced the indictment and arraignment of a Yonkers man in the stabbing death of another Yonkers resident, Michael Federico, April 24, 2019.

Byron Stinson was charged with Manslaughter in the First degree, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the First Degree, a class D felony. He was arraigned Monday (6/24) before Westchester County Court Judge David Zuckerman.

Background
Just before 4:30 a.m., April 24, 2019, prosecutors allege Byron Stinson was seated in a car with another man, Michael Federico, on Whetstone Avenue in Yonkers. Federico was in the driver’s seat and Stinson in the front passenger seat. The men argued. Stinson is charged with stabbing Federico in the neck, which caused his death a short time later.

The judge set bail at $250,000 bond or cash. He is scheduled to return to court July 10, 2019.
