July 1, 2022 – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced that Bronx resident William Pryor was indicted for fatally shooting his former roommate in March.
Pryor, 22, was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury for Murder in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, all felonies, and Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor. The defendant was arraigned before Judge Susan Cacace in Westchester County Court on July 1, 2022, and is currently being held without bail.
It is alleged in the Indictment that on March 3, 2022, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Pryor fatally shot 29-year-old Yonkers resident Marquis Muniz in Yonkers. It is further alleged that Pryor stole the victim’s cell phone.
The Yonkers Police Department arrested Pryor on June 30, 2022, in Croton-on-Hudson, following a multi-agency operation with the U.S. Marshals, the Peekskill Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
The case is before Judge Anne Minihan in Westchester County Court, and is being prosecuted by Deputy Bureau Chief Dan Flecha and Assistant District Attorney Catalina Blanco Buitrago, both of the Trials and Investigations Division. Pryor is scheduled to appear again in court on Sept. 27, 2022.
The charges against the defendant are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
