Peekskill man Pleads guilty to Repeated Sexual Abuse of Young Girl
January 16, 2026
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced today that a Peekskill man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child under the age of 13 for more than a year.
Medardo Reyes, 44, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a class B violent felony. He is expected to be sentenced to 12 years in state prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, when he is sentenced by Judge Robert Prisco on Feb. 24. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
DA Cacace said: “What the defendant subjected the victim to, in this case, is beyond comprehension. I am so proud of her for having the courage to report his abuse. Her bravery will ensure that Mr. Reyes will spend a significant amount of time behind bars for his disturbing conduct.
“We owe all children in Westchester County our greatest efforts to provide them a safe, nurturing environment to grow into adulthood. Apprehending those who abuse and exploit children remains my top priority in this office.”
Between June 2023 and October 2024, the defendant engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13 years old.
The investigation was conducted by the Peekskill Police Department.
The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Baehr, of the Special Prosecutions Division.
