April 14, 2026
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced today that Eric Graham Parker, 55, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to two years in state prison, plus three years of post-release supervision, for subjecting his then-partner to a violent physical assault in July 2024.
In addition to imposing the sentence Thursday, Judge James McCarty provided permanent orders of protection for the victim and witnesses.
DA Cacace said: “The defendant's brutal assault on his girlfriend evokes the unsparing violence of domestic abuse known all too well to survivors in this county. Domestic abuse has no type, needs no reason and offers no mercy. It impacts victims across all social and economic boundaries.
“My office employs some of the most experienced domestic violence prosecutors and support teams in this state, and I am immensely proud of the work we do every day to support survivors throughout their healing journeys.”
On July 14, 2024, the defendant followed his then-partner into the bedroom of their shared apartment, where he pinned her against the wall and punched her multiple times in the face.
Wielding a knife, the defendant stabbed multiple times at her body as she raised her hands to protect herself. The defendant proceeded to drag her throughout the bedroom and blocked the doorframe with the mattress to prevent her from leaving as he continued his assault. He then pushed her onto the floor, pressed his knee into her face and started choking her, telling her, "I should kill you" and "by the time someone hears you scream, I will be done killing you."
Once the assault was completed, the defendant fled the scene, leaving the victim with a fractured and dislocated shoulder and a torn rotator cuff. She later received 31 stiches on her fingers, hands and thigh. The defendant was an EMT at the time of his attack.
Following an indictment by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, the defendant pleaded guilty on Jan. 15, 2026, to Assault in the Second Degree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D felony, Menacing in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, a class A misdemeanor.
In a statement read aloud at sentencing, the victim stated: “I am not the same person I was before. I find myself more isolated, less trusting, and more fearful of others. The sense of safety I once carried is gone. I struggle to let people get close to me. I question my intentions. I am constantly on guard. Some friendships have become strained under the emotional weight I carry. Trauma does not stay contained to one moment — it spills into every part of your life, including the relationships that once felt secure.”
This case was investigated by the Mount Vernon Police Department.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Kontos.
