Yonkers Man Found Guilty of Robbery and Assault of Elderly Man

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced that a Yonkers man was convicted on several counts for robbing and assaulting an elderly man in Yonkers.
Vladimir Puentes, 51 years old, was found guilty of Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree, and Assault in the Second Degree after a sixteen-day jury trial. This trial was presided over by Judge Robert Prisco.
On July 1, 2024, Puentes assaulted and robbed a 75-year-old Yonkers man in an alleyway off of Riverdale Ave. near Radford St. He was arrested after an investigation by the Yonkers Police Department.
DA Cacace said: “As a society, we cannot tolerate predators preying on our most vulnerable community members, the elderly. I commend the Yonkers Police Department for their quick yet thorough investigation and arrest and I thank our Assistant District Attorneys for their dedication and determination in ensuring that Vladimir Puentes is held accountable for this despicable crime.”
Puentes is set to be sentenced on December 9th.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Alexander Shapiro and Rachel Ehrhardt.
