WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced today that a Danbury, Connecticut man was sentenced to seven years in state prison for repeatedly engaging in sexual conduct with a child between 2018 and 2020.

DA Rocah said: “Today’s sentence is justice for a child whose trust and vulnerability were routinely violated by this defendant. We commend this young survivor's bravery throughout this case.”

After a two-week trial, a jury on Oct. 11 found Angel Castro Maldonado, 40, guilty of Course of Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree, a felony. The defendant will also be subject to 10 years of post-release supervision and is required to register as a sex offender after completing his prison sentence.

The defendant repeatedly subjected the victim to multiple sexual acts while the minor was asleep between September 2018 and March 2020 in the Village of Ossining. The course of sexual conduct began when the victim was 11-years-old.

The Ossining Village Police Department arrested the defendant on Sept. 22, 2021, following an investigation, which was conducted with assistance from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

The case was before Judge Susan Cacace in Westchester County Court and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Charlotte Gudis and Morgan Helfman, both of the Special Prosecutions Division.
