Defendant:  Christopher Reim (DOB 10/09/67)

May 15, 2018 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced today that Christopher Reim of Pelham NY has been sentenced to 10 years probation with sex offender conditions on the following charges:

  • one count of Promoting An Obscene Sexual Performance By A Child, a class D felony
  • one count of Possessing An Obscene Sexual Performance By A Child, a class E felony

On Feb. 6, 2018, Reim pleaded guilty before Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace to both counts.

Background
On May 5, 2017, investigators of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crime Bureau executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home in Pelham. The warrant was based on a CyberTipline report filed by the website Chatstep, a website that offers encrypted chats, stating that a person at that location uploaded an image of child pornography to one of Chatstep’s chatrooms.

A forensic examination of the defendant’s computer devices indicated that he possessed images of sexual performances by children. The Pelham Police Department assisted in the arrest. At the time, Reim was a trustee of the Village of Pelham who stepped down after his arrest.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Laura Forbes of the High Technology Crime Bureau.
