Defendant: Jahliv Niles (DOB 08/06/01)

March 30, 2020 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Jahliv Niles of Peekskill was arraigned Saturday, March 28, for the stabbing death of another Peekskill teen. He is being charged with Murder in the Second Degree, a class A violent felony.

Niles was remanded into custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for May 18, 2020.

Background
On Friday, March 27,  shortly after 11 a.m., Jahliv Niles approached 17-year-old Omarion McKenzie as he walked down Howard Street in Peekskill and stabbed him in the chest, stomach and back. The two teens had an ongoing dispute.

Peekskill Police investigated the case and made the arrest.

ADA Brian Bendish of the Superior Court Trial Division is prosecuting the case.
