Defendant: Lloyd Scott (DOB 12/19/83)

June 22, 2018 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced the arraignment of Lloyd Scott of Mount Vernon for the Murder of his toddler son in their East Lincoln Avenue home in April. Scott was indicted by a Grand Jury on charges of Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony, and two counts of Manslaughter in the First Degree, class B felonies. He was arraigned today before Westchester County Court Judge Anne Minihan. Lloyd pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors allege, on April 16, 2018, Scott was alone with his two-year-old son while the boy’s mother was at work. During that time, he beat the child, put him in bed, and when the mother returned home from work told her the boy was sleeping. When she checked on her son, he was not breathing. Scott drove the mother and child to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital where the child was pronounced dead.

Following an autopsy performed at the Westchester Medical Examiner's Office, the child was determined to have suffered blunt force trauma to his body.

Scott was remanded to the Westchester County jail in Valhalla. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 11, 2018.

Second Deputy District Attorney Fredric I. Green, Chief of the Special Prosecutions Division, and Assistant District Attorney Wendy Parra, Chief of the Domestic Violence Bureau, are prosecuting the case.
