Feb. 27, 2018 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced today that Jaheim Murray (DOB 08/03/98) was sentenced to 3 ½ years in state prison followed by seven years post release supervision for the attempted rape of a woman at a residential school for disturbed youth in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. The sentence was handed down by County Court Judge Susan Cacace.

An order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf. The victim’s identity remains confidential. Murray will have to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Background
The attack occurred Nov. 25, 2015 at the Graham School, a residential educational and treatment center in Hastings-on-Hudson.

The charges included:

  • One count of Attempted Rape in the First
  • Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First
  • Two counts of Strangulation in the Second
  • Three counts of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kerrie Williams.
