Feb. 26, 2014 -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Dorothy Lepore (DOB 11/23/72) of 19 General MacArthur Drive, Carmel, New York was arraigned today on a Felony Complaint charging her with:

  • one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class "D" Felony.

Between May 1, 2013, and Dec. 31, 2013, the defendant, while employed as a math teacher at Tuckahoe High School and as the treasurer for the Tuckahoe Middle School and High School student government organizations "G.O." account took money raised at various fund raising events and failed to deposit the said proceeds in the appropriate bank accounts.

She then, without consent or authorization, used the stolen money for her own purposes.

The amount of the larceny at this time is approximately $26,295 in student fundraising proceeds.

A joint investigation by detectives from the Eastchester Police Department and investigators from the District Attorneys office resulted in the defendant surrendering to the Eastchester Police Department this morning.

The investigation into the theft is ongoing.

The defendant was released on her own recognizance.

Her next court date is April 2, 2014.

She faces a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.

Assistant District Attorney Brian Conway, Deputy Chief of the Public Integrity Bureau is prosecuting the case.
