Dec. 1, 2016 -- Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced today that Nathaniel Grant (DOB 07/23/65) of 53 Glenwood Avenue, Yonkers, NY was sentenced to twenty-five years in state prison after having pled guilty to:
- one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class “B” Violent Felony.
On April 1, 2015 at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Yonkers Police Department responded to several 911 calls describing a bloodied, naked man walking down Warburton Avenue.
When police arrived on the scene, they found the defendant had multiple punctures and lacerations on his stomach, legs, arms and hands. He was taken to an area hospital.
Police learned that he had come from an apartment located at 53 Glenwood Ave. When they entered, they found the victim, 56 year old Carol Finch deceased.
She had been stabbed multiple times including wounds to her heart, lungs and liver.
Sometime before Grant was found by police roaming the street, neighbors said they heard a commotion coming from within the victim’s apartment.
Grant was subsequently arrested at the hospital.
At the conclusion of today’s proceeding, the defendant was remanded into the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections.
Assistant District Attorney Christine O’Connor of the Superior Court Trials Division prosecuted the case.
