Defendant: Lloyd Scott DOB 12/19/83

April 18, 2018 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced that Lloyd Scott of Mount Vernon has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony, in the death Monday of his two-year-old son.

The felony complaint alleges Scott took his son’s life while in their home in an apartment complex at 531 East Lincoln Ave., Mount Vernon. Prosecutors allege he was alone with the child Monday, April 16, 2018, while the child’s mother was at work. After returning home from work, the mother found the child in bed, unresponsive, and took him to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following an autopsy performed at the Westchester Medical Examiner's Office, the child was determined to have suffered blunt force trauma to his body. Mount Vernon Police charged Scott Tuesday with the child's homicide and he was arraigned in the Mount Vernon City Court. Lloyd is currently being held without bail at the Westchester County jail in Valhalla and is due back in court April 23, 2018.

ADA Wendy Parra, Chief of the Domestic Violence Bureau, is prosecuting the case.
