Defendant: Christian Rodriguez (DOB 01/11/04)

March 11, 2020 --  Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Christian Rodriguez of Yonkers pleaded guilty Wednesday (March 11) to attempted murder in the shooting of another Yonkers teen last June.

Specifically, Rodriguez pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a class B felony, before Westchester County Court Judge Helen Blackwood in the County Court Youth Part. Rodriguez was indicted as a Juvenile Offender (JO) because of his age. Sentencing is scheduled for April 22, 2020.

Background
On June 21, 2019, just after 5 p.m., Christian Rodriguez fired a semi-automatic pistol at another teenaged boy in the vicinity of Hyland and Stanley avenues in Yonkers. A surveillance video camera captured the shooting incident. Rodriguez and the victim knew each other and the shooting was a result of a dispute.

Other charges are pending against the defendant in Bronx County.

Assistant District Attorneys Brian Bendish and Daniel Flecha of the Superior Court Trial Division are prosecuting the case.
