June 24, 2016 -- Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced that Eryc Hairston (DOB 06/09/90) of 130 Morningside Place, Yonkers, New York, was found guilty today after a trial of:

  • one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a class “A” Felony

in the shooting death of Kenedy Gonzalez.

On July 8, 2015, at approximately 2:20 a.m., in the vicinity of 120 Waverly St. in Yonkers, the defendant shot Gonzalez twice, killing him.

After an intensive investigation carried out by the Yonkers Police Department, the defendant was arrested on July 27, 2015 in New York City.

The defendant’s remand continues.

He is due to be sentenced on Aug. 30, 2016.

The defendant faces a term of imprisonment, the least sentence being 15 years to life, and the greatest sentence is 25 years to life.
