Defendant: Andrew Knight (DOB 03/27/2000)

Feb. 28, 2020 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, announced Andrew Knight of Ossining pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Gregory Jackson, Jr. also of Ossining.

Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit accepted the plea to Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B violent felony.
Knight was remanded into custody. Sentencing is scheduled for June 12, 2020.

Background
On Jan. 28, 2019, Andrew Knight met up with Gregory Jackson on James Street in Ossining in the late afternoon, following a prior dispute with the victim over an article of clothing. The two argued. Knight stabbed Jackson with a kitchen knife. Jackson was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He died from his wounds Feb. 1, 2019.

Ossining Police arrested Knight Feb. 7, 2019, in the Bronx for the fatal stabbing.

In addition to Ossining Police, the DA’s Office worked with the FBI's Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force, Westchester County Police, New York State and New York City (NYPD) Police to investigate the crime.

Deputy District Attorney Christine O’Connor, Chief of the Homicide Division, and Assistant District Attorney Brian Bendish are prosecuting the case.
