Dec. 23, 2016 -- Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced today that
Fredy Coronado Mendez Depaz (DOB 11/11/80) of 16 Spring St., Mount Kisco, NY pled guilty to:
- one count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony.
Milton Aviel Ventura (DOB 03/27/80) of 57 Spring St., Mount Kisco, NY pled guilty to:
- one count of Robbery in the Third Degree, a class “D” Felony.
Along with his guilty plea, Ventura was sentenced to time served.
On Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016
Mario David Coronado Depaz (DOB 08/29/95) of 3 West St., Mount Kisco, NY pled guilty to:
- one count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony.
Sometime over the course of July 4, 2015 and July 5, 2015 the Depaz brothers beat to death Jose Reyes Sanchez in a wooded area in the vicinity of Lieto Drive and Lexington Avenue in Mount Kisco.
The victim, a homeless day laborer was repeatedly punched, kicked and beaten with a tree branch.
Prior to the attack, Mario David Coronado Depaz and Milton Aviel Ventura forcibly stole the victim’s wrist watch was from his wrist.
An intensive investigation by the Westchester County Police led to the arrest of all three defendants.
The remand for the defendants continues.
Fredy Coronado Mendez Depaz and Mario David Coronado Depaz each face a maximum of five to fifteen years in state prison.
Milton Aviel Ventura faces a maximum of two-and-a third to seven years in state prison.
The sentencing date for Mario David Coronado Depaz is Feb. 23, 2017.
The sentencing date for Fredy Coronado Mendez Depaz is April 15, 2017.
Assistant District Attorney Jean Prisco of the Superior Court Trial Division is prosecuting the case.
