Intelligence Center EmblemActive partnerships
The Westchester Intelligence Center is a fully engaged partner with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Working collaboratively with state and regional intelligence centers, the Westchester Intelligence Center will serve as a central hub for producing intelligence based products specific to the needs of Westchester County. The center is a fully integrated component of NY/NJ HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area-Regional Intelligence Center).  “The NY/NJ HIDTA is led by an Executive Committee consisting of 18 federal, state, and local law enforcement leaders in the NY metropolitan area” whose goal is to reduce crime through collaboration and information sharing. HIDTA provides access to over fifty law enforcement and commercial databases accessible to the Westchester Intelligence Center.

Resources available
The intelligence center can provide detailed interactive maps of reported criminal incidents and related information to law enforcement. These maps provide the opportunity to identify emerging trends with a visual representation of criminal activity allowing police agencies to develop strategies to curtail further crime. New sets of data, previously unavailable and provided as a pilot program to the Westchester Intelligence Center by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services in addition to data collected by the Office of the District Attorney will be utilized to provide this service. Additionally, the intelligence center is positioning itself with the application of new software to collect and collate data from individual police departments to better identify cross jurisdictional crimes.

Databases
In addition to the information sources provided through HIDTA, the intelligence center is augmenting the impressive number of available data bases with the inclusion of various local and state data resources, wedding more information together to identify commonalities among crimes impacting Westchester County. Accessing data sources from Westchester County partners, including the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Corrections, and the County Clerk among others, will allow the Westchester Intelligence Center to provide criminal analysis and identify linkages to different crimes yielding information of the kind required to address and resolve crime.
