Sept. 19, 2017 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced today that Richard J. Silva, twenty-nine years old of Yonkers, New York, was arraigned on a Felony Complaint in Yonkers City Court and was charged with:

  • One count of Possessing An Obscene Sexual Performance By A Child, a class “E” Felony.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office received information that a computer at the defendant’s residence may have contained obscene sexual performances of children.

On Sept. 11, 2017, a search warrant was issued for the defendant’s residence. A computer was recovered and forensics performed which revealed over one hundred images and videos of children engaging in sexual acts.

The defendant was arrested today.

This was an investigation carried out by Investigators from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office with the assistance of the Yonkers Police Department.

The defendant pled not guilty.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash over $10,000 bond.

He faces a maximum of four years in state prison.

Her next court date is Oct. 10, 2017.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Laura Forbes of the High Tech Crimes Unit.
