NRPD Makes Arrests in Million Dollar Jewelry Store Burglary

April 6, 2018 -- During the early morning hours of April 5, 2018, members of the New Rochelle Police Department, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Investigators Office, the Bergen County, N.J. Prosecutor’s Office and the Port Chester Police Department executed search warrants at various locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, related to the February 2, 2018, burglary of the New Rochelle Coin, Stamp and Jewelers located at 20 ½ Division St.

During the search several items of evidentiary value were located, and two males were taken into custody. Both of these individuals were subsequently charged with the commission of the burglary. These arrests are the culmination of an extensive, monthslong investigation into this and similar burglaries in other communities believed to have been committed by these individuals. The professionalism and cooperation among the above-mentioned departments led to the successful conclusion of this case.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. commended all the agencies for this outcome. "These arrests are the culmination of an important multijurisdictional effort involving our criminal investigators, the New Rochelle Police Department, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Port Chester Police Department. We want to thank all of our partners for this seamless collaboration to bring this two-state burglary spree to an end.
