Defendant: Demetrius Bogan (DOB 09/29/99)

Sept. 30, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced that Demetrius Bogan of Peekskill pleaded guilty Friday to manslaughter in the 2018 shooting death of a Bronx man in Peekskill.

Specifically, Bogan pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B felony, Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, for killing 22-year-old Khalil Lyons.

The fatal shooting took place in the area of 1245 Park St., Peekskill, in the afternoon of July 13, 2018. Peekskill Police arrested Bogan later that month.

State Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit accepted the plea. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 21, 2019.

Assistant District Attorneys Nadine Nagler, Chief of the Narcotics and Firearms Bureau, Jonathan Strongin, Deputy Chief of the Career Criminal Bureau, and Joseph Servino prosecuted the case.

 In compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 3.6, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
