Oct. 31, 2022 – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah announced that Riverside, Connecticut resident Majid Hedayati, 67, was indicted for taking photographs underneath the skirt of an unsuspecting female passenger while traveling on the Metro-North Railroad.

The defendant was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury for Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree, a felony. The defendant was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Oct. 31, 2022.

On Sep. 23, 2021, at approximately 11:27 p.m., the defendant allegedly used his cellphone to photograph under the victim’s skirt while sitting across from her on a Metro-North train traveling through Harrison from Grand Central Station. The victim’s friend, who was sitting directly next to the defendant, confronted him and reported him to a conductor.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police arrested the defendant on Oct. 13, 2021, at Grand Central Station following an investigation.

The case is before Judge Susan Cacace in Westchester County Court, and is being prosecuted by Sex Crimes Bureau Chief Wendy Parra of the Special Prosecutions Division.

The charges against the defendant are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
