Defendant: Markell Richardson (DOB 03/17/94)

Nov. 19, 2020 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Markell Richardson of Mount Vernon pleaded guilty to stabbing a woman in January.

Specifically, Richardson pleaded guilty to Assault in the Second Degree, a class D violent felony. He appeared in Westchester County Court before State Supreme Court Justice Barry Warhit.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2021.

Background
On Jan. 11, 2020 at 3:55 a.m., in the vicinity of Ludlow Street and South Broadway in Yonkers, Markell Richardson stabbed a woman multiple times. The assault took place after Richardson, the victim and the victim’s girlfriend argued.

Assistant District Attorney Craig Ascher prosecuted the case.
