Defendant: John Fraioli (DOB 11/10/84)

Nov. 21, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced that John Fraioli of White Plains was arraigned on new charges related to having sexual relations with a child victim.

Specifically, he is charged with:

  • 5 counts of Rape in the Third Degree, a class E felony
  • 5 counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, a class D felony

He surrendered today to White Plains Police and was arraigned in City Court.

Background

Prosecutors allege, John Fraioli had sexual relations with a teenage victim in his White Plains home on five occasions during the period of June through October, 2019.

He was arrested and charged in October in New Rochelle for sexual activity with the same child victim while employed as a teacher at New Rochelle High School. He allegedly engaged in a sexual act with the victim in the school building during school hours last spring. Specifically, he was charged then with Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree, a Class E felony. The investigation continued and led to the further charges.

Fraioli resigned from his teaching position in June. He was released on bail which was posted earlier. His next court appearance will be scheduled in Westchester County Court.

Special Prosecutions Division Assistant District Attorney Mary Clark-DiRusso, Deputy Chief of the Domestic Violence Bureau, is prosecuting the case.
