Defendants: Jose Pabellon (DOB 09/09/85); Valentina Longhi (DOB 10/11/94)

Nov. 1, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Jose Pabellon of Yonkers and Valentina Longhi of the Bronx were indicted and arraigned on charges related to a July stabbing on a Yonkers street. They appeared before County Court Judge Susan Cacace.

Pabellon was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury and charged with the following:

  • Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B violent felony
  • Assault in the First Degree, a Class B violent felony
  • Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D violent felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D felony
  • Longhi was charged with the following:
  • Hindering prosecution in the Second Degree, a Class E felony
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class E felony
  • Longhi was released on her own recognizance and Pabellon was released on $50,000 bond. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 19, 2019.

Background 
On July 31, 2019, at 2 p.m., Jose Pabellon got into an argument with the victim on Morris Street in Yonkers. They did not know each other. Valentina Longhi was with Pabellon. Prosecutors allege, Pabellon chased the victim with a knife and tried to stab him. The victim blocked the knife with his hand and was wounded. He suffered a severe laceration. Pabellon then beat the victim into unconsciousness. Longhi picked up the knife and hid it nearby. Pabellon and Longhi fled the scene.

The victim sustained nerve and artery damage to his hand requiring surgery. He also sustained numerous broken bones to his face. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Yonkers Police arrested Pabellon after he sought medical attention for an injury his sustained in the fight. Following the indictment, Longhi surrendered.

Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Strongin, Deputy Chief of the Career Criminal Bureau in the Superior Court Trial Division, is prosecuting the case.
