Defendant: Michael Jenkins DOB: (01/08/99)

May 11, 2020 – Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Michael Jenkins of Peekskill is charged in the fatal shooting of Emmanuel Jordan in Peekskill Friday. Jenkins was arraigned today via video stream in Westchester County Court Emergency Part by Judge Susan Kettner on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a class A felony.

Jenkins was remanded into custody. His next court date is scheduled for May 18, 2020.

Background
Early Saturday morning, May 9, 2020, Peekskill police responded to a call of a man not moving in a car on Paulding Street. They found the victim’s body with multiple gunshot wounds. He was identified as 27-year-old Emmanuel Jordan of Mohegan Lake.

Peekskill Police began an investigation in the fatal shooting with the assistance of the District Attorney's Office High Technology Unit.

The felony complaint alleges Michael Jenkins met the victim, Emanuel Jordan, Friday evening on Paulding Street and shot him. He was arrested by Peekskill Police. The investigation continues.

Assistant District Attorneys Laura Murphy, Chief of the Career Criminal Bureau, and Brian Bendish, both of the Superior Court Trial Division, are prosecuting the case.
