Defendant: Antonio Alvarez (DOB: 05/23/70)

March 19, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced that Antonio Alvarez was arraigned Monday (March 18, 2019) on charges related to an attempted murder and assault in Peekskill on Christmas Day 2018. Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace presided.

Alvarez was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury on the following:

  • Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a class B violent felony
  • Assault in the first Degree, a class B violent felony
  • Two counts of Assault in the Second Degree, class D felonies
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a misdemeanor

Background
On Decc 25, 2018 around 10 p.m., the defendant, Antonio Alvarez, was in a deli on South Street in the City of Peekskill when he attacked another man. The indictment alleges he stabbed his victim in the neck with a knife. The victim was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Alvarez does not have a permanent address. He is currently remanded. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 27, 2019.
