Defendants: Joseph Ogilvie (DOB 03/12/92); Tremaine Gordon ((DOB 07/16/91)

March 18, 2019 -- The Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced two Mount Vernon men were convicted on assault and weapons charges by a Westchester County jury Monday following a trial before Judge George Fufidio.

Joseph Ogilvie and Tremaine Gordon, both of Mount Vernon, were convicted of the following charges:

  • Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a class C violent felony
  • Assault in the Second Degree, a class D violent felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor

They are scheduled for sentencing April 23, 2019.

Background
The conviction stems from a violent incident April 28, 2016, at approximately 3 a.m. in the vicinity of Gramatan and West Sidney avenues in Mount Vernon. At the time, the victim was in a verbal confrontation with both defendants on a public sidewalk. As the victim entered a vehicle and attempted to leave the area, the defendants approached the victim and stabbed him multiple times. The victim fled and was later found injured in the Bronx by members of the New York Police Department (NYPD). The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.

The defendants are currently remanded to the Westchester County Jail awaiting sentence.

The case was prosecuted by the Investigations Division Gang, Firearms and Narcotics Bureau.
