Defendant: Lateef Outlaw a/k/a John Anderson (DOB: 06/28/1977)

March 14, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Lateef Outlaw a/k/a John Anderson pleaded guilty Monday, March 11, 2019, in connection with a domestic violence assault, to attempting to strangle his girlfriend in Mamaroneck last November.

Specifically, Outlaw pleaded guilty to Attempted Strangulation in the Third Degree, a class “E” violent felony. He will be sentenced as a violent predicate felony offender June 10, 2019.

Background
On Nov. 2, 2018, in the vicinity of Mamaroneck Avenue, Mamaroneck, at approximately 3 a.m., the defendant and his girlfriend argued. As the victim was getting into her car to leave, Outlaw punched her in the face. He then took the victim’s sweatshirt and wrapped it around her neck causing her to gasp for air. The victim was able to flee for her safety. A warrant was issued for the defendant’s arrest. Mamaroneck Village PD arrested him Dec. 6, 2018.

The case was prosecuted by ADA Christine E. Cervasio of the Special Prosecutions Division.
