Background
In late August 2018, Yonkers Police arrested several members of the “150 Clan” gang, operating in and around the Nodine Hill area. Richard Basket, one of the leaders of the gang, was arrested  as part of “Operation: 150 Clan,” a collaborative law enforcement effort between the Yonkers Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office Investigations Division Gang, Firearms and Narcotics Bureau. Eight defendants who were members of the “150 Clan” were charged on a multicount indictment which stemmed from the gang’s conspiracy to assert control over the area using violence. The violence included shootings, assaults and possession of weapons. During the course of this conspiracy the defendants worked together to attempt to murder and assault rival gang members and take control of the area through acts of intimidation and violence and to distribute narcotics. The investigation into the conspiracy and violent acts resulted in the recovery of a loaded .45 caliber pistol which Basket secreted in a storage facility in the City of Yonkers.

The case was prosecuted by the Investigations Division Gang, Firearms and Narcotics Bureau.

In compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 3.6, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
