The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) pertains to the public's right to request government records. All requests made to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office pursuant to FOIL must be submitted in writing to the Records Access Officer and should be sent by email to foil@westchesterda.net or by mail to:

Requests should specify the medium in which records are to be provided and should include a contact name, phone number and email address if applicable.

We will attempt to provide records as requested. If we are unable to do so, we will contact the requester to discuss further. The statutory rate for reproduction of documents is $.25 per page. Additional costs may be assessed for reproduction of audio and video records. If any charges are to be assessed, we will contact requesters prior to proceeding.

COVID-19 Update
Please be advised that due to COVID-19, no onsite inspections of requested material are permitted. 


Statutory response times have been paused by the Governor’s executive orders due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. We will nevertheless make every effort to comply with the applicable time frames set forth in the law.
