Defendant: David H. Prieto  (DOB 09/02/96) 

April 30, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced that David H. Prieto of White Plains pleaded guilty to making false bomb threats against a Greenburgh building last September, forcing its evacuation on four occasions.

Prieto appeared in Westchester County Court on Monday (4/29) before Judge Michael Martinelli. Specifically, he pleaded guilty to four counts of False Reporting in the First Degree, class D felonies, for making written bomb threats against 660 White Plains Road in Greenburgh. 

He is scheduled for sentencing July 29, 2019.

Background
David H. Prieto was employed by his father’s construction contracting business at the time of the incidents. The firm was on site at 660 White Plains Road. That is where Prieto, while employed, made threats suggesting there were bombs in the building on Sept. 13, 14, 17 and 19, 2018. In each incident, the threat was either written on a bathroom wall in marker, or on paper found in a stairwell. In one instance, he wrote, “I have the bomb in the building BOOM.”

The building at 660 is open to the public with approximately 30 businesses and 400 employees. In each of the four incidents, the building was evacuated and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad was called in to determine if the building was safe. Police say, the defendant was recorded by security cameras in the building.

Greenburgh Police handled the investigation and arrested Prieto on Sept. 25, 2018.
