Defendant: Luis Antonio Araujo-Cada (DOB 04/11/84)

April 26, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Luis Antonio Araujo-Cada of Ossining was sentenced to four years in state prison for Course of Sexual Conduct against a Child in the Second Degree, a class D felony. He appeared for sentencing before Westchester County Court Judge Susan Cacace Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Background
Araujo-Cada pleaded guilty in February 2019 to sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl whom he knew. He engaged in sexual acts with the child over a nine-month period. He was arrested Nov. 6, 2018 and arraigned the same day.

In addition to the prison term, the judge sentenced him to 10 years post-release supervision. Upon release, he must register as a sex offender.

Assistant District Attorney Karen D. Herbert of the Special prosecutions Division prosecuted the case.
