Defendant: Eric Jackier (DOB 04/30/69)

April 11, 2019 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced that Eric Jackier of White Plains was sentenced to two terms of five years’ probation on two separate counts of grand larceny for stealing money from unsuspecting victims who believed he was helping them with their financial transactions. The sentences will run concurrently (at the same time). He appeared before Westchester County Court Judge Michael Martinelli.

Specifically, Jackier pleaded guilty Oct. 4, 2018, to Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a class C felony, on a case in Rye Brook and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D felony, on a White Plains case.

As part of his sentence, Jackier paid back the full amount of restitution of $16,475 to his White Plains victim and $163,300 to his Rye Brook victim.

Background
In White Plains, Jackier was charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree after the defendant stole $16,475.00 from a White Plains woman. The money was supposed to be used to set up a charity, but, instead, Jackier used the money for his own purposes. The theft took place between May 15, 2015, and Aug. 20, 2015. The arrest was made by the District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigators.

In Rye Brook, on a separate charge of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, Jackier stole more than $160,000 in checks written by the victim to Jackier. The victim was an elderly Rye Brook woman to whom Jackier claimed to be an expert who could help secure Veteran’s benefits. He used the title of “Non-Attorney Representative” who could handle Veteran and Social Security cases. The woman was seeking help for her elderly husband. The theft took place between Aug. 1, 2013, and Oct. 4, 2017. Again, he use the money for his own purposes. Rye Brook Police made the arrest.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gwen Galef, Chief of the Economic Crimes Division.
