First Deputy District Attorney Victor OldsVictor Olds serves as the Chief of Professional Responsibility, Recruitment and Training, a position he held in the Bronx County DA’s Office prior to joining the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office in March 2019. He is also a Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School, teaching legal writing and appellate advocacy.

Mr. Olds began his legal career serving for eight years as an Assistant Attorney General In Charge in the New York State Attorney General’s Office and then twelve years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, serving in the civil and then criminal division where he successfully handled numerous white-collar criminal investigations, trials and appeals for prosecutions of mail, wire, bank and securities fraud, public corruption and criminal civil rights violations.

Prior to joining the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Olds served as the First Deputy Commissioner and then Acting Commissioner in the New York City Department of Investigation. He also served as General Counsel for the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, Senior Counsel for Legal Services for New York City, Managing Director and General Counsel for Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Legal Services Corporation, Vice President and Senior Attorney at Morgan Stanley, and litigation partner with Holland & Knight in New York City.

Mr. Olds has also taught law at Brooklyn Law School and Fordham University School of Law. He has been an instructor at the U.S. Department of Justice Advocacy Institute and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Mr. Olds, who earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A from New York University, is a Harvard Law School Wasserstein Public Interest Law Fellow.
