GUILTY PLEA TO ENTIRE INDICTMENT

IN PEEKSKILL STABBING DEATH

 

 

 

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that LaTonya Fisher (DOB 1010/91) of 807 Main Street, Peekskill, New York plead guilty today to the entire indictment of one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class ”B” Felony and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, in the Fourth Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor.

 

On Thursday, January 3, 2008, at 8:12 P.M., Peekskill police received a 911 call/hang-up from the defendant’s apartment. Using reverse 911, they called back, spoke to the defendant and asked if everything was alright and were told by the defendant that she had miss-dialed trying to dial 914. There was no police response to the scene at that time.

 

Later that evening, in response to a second 911 call from the defendant at 9:47 P.M., police arrived to see the defendant sitting on the floor of her living room holding the deceased.  

 

The defendant stated that she had an argument with her boyfriend and stabbed him.  The victim suffered a single stab wound to his back perforating the lung and heart resulting in tremendous loss of blood.

 

Fisher directed police into a nearby kitchen where a 12” blood stained kitchen knife was wrapped in a bag.

 

Emergency medical personnel who responded to the scene found no signs of life from the victim and he was pronounced dead at that scene at 10:33 P.M.

 

Fisher will be sentenced on August 28 th, 2008.

 

She faces a minimum of five to a maximum of twenty five years in state prison.

 

Assistant District Attorney Fredric I. Green, of the Superior Court Trial Division, prosecuted the case.
