Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Alberto Gomez Ojeda (DOB 03/13/83) of 125 Lake Street, White Plains, New York, was arraigned today on a five count indictment charging him with:


·         two counts of Predatory Sexual Assault in the First Degree, class “A-II” Felonies,

·         one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a class “B” Felony,

·         one count of Rape in the First Degree, a class “B” Felony,

·         and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor.


On March 30, 2012 shortly after midnight, the defendant, while walking in the area of Lake Street in White Plains, observed a female walking alone.


The defendant approached the female and subsequently sexually assaulted and forcibly raped her at knifepoint.


The defendant fled the scene. 


White Plains Police were notified and began an investigation, and arrested the defendant on  April 1, 2012.


Ojeda was remanded and his next court appearance will be on May 22, 2012.


He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison on the top counts of the indictment.


Assistant District Attorney Wendy Parra of the Sex Crimes Bureau is prosecuting the case.
