married father pleads
guilty to attempted rape of a 10
year old Westchester
County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Robert Viggiano (DOB ·
one count of Attempted Rape in the First Degree, a class “C” Felony. The
defendant, an electrical contractor, told a prostitute that he wanted to have
sex with a 10 year old virgin, asking whether or not she could arrange it. The
prostitute reported the defendant’s request to Yonkers Police who along with the
Westchester County District Attorney’s Office began an undercover
investigation. Over a
period of a few weeks the defendant had multiple conversations with an
undercover police officer posing as the mother of the 10 year old girl
regarding the arrangements and the price. They agreed on the transaction
occurring at her apartment for $400 and to bring candy for the victim. On The
defendant’s bail was revoked and he was remanded. Sentencing
will be on The
defendant faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison with up to 15
years post release supervision and will have to register as a sex offender
under Megan’s Law/Sex Offender Registry Act upon his release. Assistant
District Attorney Kenneth Borden of the Special Prosecutions Division
