ELDERLY BRONXVILLE woman indicted for





Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Bridget Gambone

(DOB 05/21/25) of 10 Brooklands Circle, Bronxville, New York, was arraigned today on an indictment charging her with:


·         one count of Leaving the Scene of An Incident Without Reporting Resulting in Death, a class “D” Felony, in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law,


relating to the striking of a pedestrian with her vehicle and the victim’s death.


On December 2, 2010, at approximately 5:45 pm, the defendant was driving north on Kraft Avenue in the Village of Bronxville on the way home from her daughter’s house.


The defendant’s car struck the victim, 59 year old Sheryl Chasin, a Yonkers school teacher, as she crossed the street to go to a Christmas party at a local restaurant.


The defendant then left the scene of the accident and failed to report the accident to police.


Bronxville Police arrested the defendant later that evening.


She was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on May 10, 2011.


The defendant faces a maximum of 2 1/3 to 7 years in state prison.


Senior Assistant District Attorney Paula Branca-Santos of the Superior Court Trial Division is prosecuting the case.
