MILLION DOLLAR DRUG MONEY SEIZURE IN DOBBS FERRY STASH HOUSE
Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore and Dobbs Ferry Police Chief George Longworth announced the seizure of over One Million Dollars in United States Currency, as well as drug paraphernalia that included a money counter, vacuum sealers, duct tape and six cellular telephones.
Acting on a tip from the New Jersey State Police that was provided to investigators from the Westchester County District Attorney’s Narcotics Initiative (W-DANI) who with the Dobbs Ferry Police Department, the Greenburgh Police Drug and Alcohol Task Force and along with the New York City Police Department and the New York State Police were able to link a vehicle to a location in Dobbs Ferry, New York that was utilized as a possible "stash" house.
Search warrants for the location 383 Ashford Avenue and for the vehicle, a 1999 Lexus, were executed resulting in the seizure of the money and drug paraphernalia.
In addition, Angel Sanchez (DOB 5/11/74) of 520 West 163 Street, New York, New York was arrested on one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a class “A” Misdemeanor.
Bail was set at $5,000,000 and adjourned until September 28, 2006.
Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
Assistant District Attorney Tom Luzio, Chief of the Narcotics Bureau, will prosecute the case.
