Oct. 25, 2017 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. today announced the sentencing of an Ossining woman to 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years in state prison for stealing more than $250,000 from her Pleasantville employer over a four-year period.

Erika Flores (DOB 08/09/70) of Ossining, NY, was the accounting clerk for Prospero Equipment Corp., a national commercial winery, beer, and spirits supply company, in Pleasantville for approximately ten years and was responsible for accounts payable for the credit cards used by the company.

An investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office revealed that Flores used the company credit cards between January 2012 and June 2016 without permission and falsified records to conceal her personal charges. She also had corporate checks drawn to the credit card company so that there would be sufficient funds to cover her personal charges without detection.  It was determined that she stole $251,437.58 by using two company credit cards for personal expenses such as food, travel and clothing.

Flores was arrested by the Mount Pleasant Police on June 30, 2016, and pled guilty to one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony, on June 28th of this year.

In addition to her sentence, Flores was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $251,437.58.

Assistant District Attorney Nicole Gamble of the Economic Crimes Bureau prosecuted the case.
