Nov. 3, 2016 -- Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced today that Blake Natal (DOB 07/09/83) of 2142 Beech St., Yonkers, New York was sentenced to twelve years in state prison after having pled guilty to:

  • one count of Burglary in the First Degree, a class “B” Felony,
  • one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a class “D” Felony.

On Nov. 22, 2015 at approximately 9:59 a.m. at 163 Radford St. in Yonkers, the defendant entered the apartment of his ex-girlfriend without her permission.

The defendant had previously been served an order of protection on Oct. 23, 2015 which required him to stay away from his ex-girlfriend. By entering her apartment he was in violation of that order.

Natal then realized that there was another person inside, an adult male who was locked in the bathroom.

The defendant kicked open the bathroom door and repeatedly punched the victim, striking him about his head and body. The defendant beat him so badly that the victim suffered a traumatic brain injury, a spinal fracture and a laceration to the back of his head.

The victim was hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center for approximately one month for his injuries. He was then moved to Mount Sinai Medical Center for approximately one month for further treatment. His injuries resulted in severe cognitive and physical impairment.

On Nov. 25, 2015, at approximately 1:06 p.m., the defendant again violated the order of protection by calling his ex-girlfriend telling her that he was coming to Yonkers to finish the job he started, causing her to feel threatened and fear for her safety.

An investigation by the Yonkers Police Department led to the defendant’s arrest by the Warrant Squad on Dec. 30, 2015.

The defendant was remanded to the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections.

Assistant District Attorney ToniAnn Gagliardi of the Special Investigations Division prosecuted the case.
