Nov. 6, 2013 -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Amanda Iles (DOB 02/28/86) of 8456 Allen Street, Moss Landing, California was arraigned today on a Felony Complaint charging her with:

  • two counts of Rape in the Second Degree, class “D” Felonies.

At the time of the incident, the defendant was a teacher in the Religion Department at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York.

Between June 11, 2013 and July 14, 2013, the defendant engaged in sexual encounters with a then 14 year old boy.

The defendant knew the male victim who was a student at the school. The encounters took place at a location in the Town of Eastchester.

The victim’s parents became aware of the encounters and contacted the Yonkers police.

Further investigation revealed that the incident took place at a location in the Town of Eastchester.

The defendant returned from California where she has been living and surrendered to Eastchester police this morning.

“As a teacher, this defendant was in a position of trust and authority. In becoming involved with a student incapable of consent, she abused that privilege. Multi-jurisdictional detective work by police quickly led to the identification and arrest of the defendant,” said District Attorney Janet DiFiore.

Bail was set at $75,000 bond over $25,000 cash.

The defendant’s next court date is Dec. 4, 2013.

She faces a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.

Second Deputy District Attorney Audrey Stone, Chief of the Special Prosecutions Division, is prosecuting the case.
