Defendant: Lamont McLean (DOB 11/02/93)

June 7, 2018 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced today that Lamont McLean of Yonkers has been sentenced to 16 years in an armed robbery of two men in Yonkers.

McLean was found guilty on two counts of Robbery in the First Degree, class B felonies, after a jury trial conducted by Judge Barry Warhit.

Background
On July 26, 2016, at approximately 4:40 p.m., both Lamont McLean and Floyd Bruce, both of Yonkers, were on Palisade Avenue in Yonkers. Both defendants, armed with handguns, approached two men in a parked car. They proceeded to rob both men at gunpoint. Both defendants then ran from the scene.

Yonkers Police Department arrested them the next day. At the time of Bruce’s arrest, police recovered a 22-caliber semi-automatic handgun that was in his possession.

In another earlier unrelated incident, at approximately 5:15 p.m. July 16, 2016, Bruce, alone, was walking on Willow Street in Yonkers when he fired a 22-caliber semi-automatic pistol striking a four-year-old girl in the leg. She was not the intended target. The victim was taken to a local area hospital where she was treated and released a few days later.

Bruce (DOB 07/04/97), who pleaded guilty June 8, 2017, is scheduled to be sentenced June 28, 2018, on the following charges:

  • Robbery in the First Degree, a class B felony
  • Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a class C felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C felony

Assistant District Attorney Nadine Nagler, Deputy Bureau Chief of the Career Criminal Division, prosecuted the case.
