MOTHERS AGAINST VIOLENCE: ENCOURAGING RESPONSIBILITY

IN COMMUNITY KIDS

The M.A.V.E.R.I.C.K. program, developed by the Westchester County District Attorney's office,  consists of a series of workshops for parents offering information and advice on keeping children safe in our communities.

The program focuses on educating and empowering mothers through panel discussions on youth violence, violence prevention and practical resources for mothers to combat the influences surrounding gangs and youth violence.

The first in a countywide series of workshops for parents was held at the Nepperhan  Community Center in Yonkers.

The event was held in conjunction with:

• The City of Yonkers Violence and Gang Prevention Coalition

• The Yonkers School District
