Westchester County will offer up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone in possession of an illegal gun. A 24 hour hotline has been established at Westchester County Police headquarters: (914) 231-4GUN (4486). Callers who do not want to give their name will be assigned a confidential number that can be used when it is time to collect the reward. |

Throughout the year, The Westchester County District Attorney's Office in conjunction with various local police departments conducts the "Watch Your Car" VIN etching program.
The program involves the etching of the motor vehicle's unique VIN - Vehicle Identification Number - onto all window glass to help combat auto theft. The process of etching takes only a short period of time, and is unobtrusive. No appointment is necessary and vehicles will be taken on a first come first served basis.
“Watch Your Car” is free of cost, open to all Westchester residents and can result in a reduction of your automobile insurance premiums. |
