June 7, 2016 -- Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty announced that Yordy Lopez  DOB (9/15/91) of 174 North Ave., New Rochelle  was sentenced today to nine years in state prison after pleading guilty to the following: 

  • one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class “B” Violent Felony

Over the time period between Sept. 1, 2010 and Nov. 30, 2011, the defendant did sexually assault a female child who was eight to nine years of age at the time involving multiple acts of sexual abuse and rape. 

After an investigation by the New Rochelle Police Department and Special Prosecutions Division of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, the defendant was placed under arrest on April 15, 2015. Along with the prison sentence the defendant will be required to go through fifteen years post release supervision.  

Assistant District Attorney Christine Hatfield, Deputy Bureau Chief of the Child Abuse Division,  prosecuted the case.
