Dec. 21, 2017 -- Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. today announced that Eric Betz (DOB 5/8/1986) of Irvington, NY has been arraigned on sexual abuse and forcible touching charges.

Specifically, Betz is charged as follows:

  • one count of Forcible Touching
  • one count of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree
  • one count of Harassment in the Second Degree

Betz, 31, and the victim initially met at Lifetime Fitness in Harrison where Betz is a trainer. On or about July 1, 2017, Betz contacted the victim and arranged to meet her. He then forcibly groped and sexually assaulted the victim in spite of her protests. After a brief struggle with the victim, Betz left the premises.

Betz pled not guilty.

His bail was set at $3,000 cash over $3,000 bond, and his next court date is Jan. 25, 2018.

Betz faces up to one year in jail.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Mount Vernon Bureau is prosecuting the case.
