This year’s Senior Law Day saw hundreds of seniors turn out for a day of free legal and financial education on issues ranging from the public safety needs of our growing senior population, to health care choices and estate planning.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office participated in a workshop on avoiding scams. The elderly remain a vulnerable target of scam artists, predators and even family members for their own financial gain, so one of our seasoned prosecutors spent time explaining the measures that can be taken to limit exposure from these types of crimes and prevent our seniors from becoming the victims of financial fraud.
